PeerSky is in testing on Google Play, which only lets people on our testers list install it. Getting on the list takes three steps.
-
Join the Google Group
Google Play lets testers in through a Google Group. Sign in with the Google account you use on your phone and tap Join group.
Join the group -
Become a tester
Open the opt-in page with the same account and tap Become a tester.
Opt in on Google Play -
Install the test build
Install PeerSky from Google Play like any other app. It can take a few minutes after you opt in before Google Play offers it.
When PeerSky is published for everyone, you don't have to install it again. Keep using the one you have: it updates through Google Play like any other app.
Or install the APK
Download the .apk from our GitHub releases and open it on your
phone, allowing installs from your browser if it asks. New versions come out on the same page.
To check the file, run openssl sha256 PeerSky-<version>.apk
and compare what it prints with the checksum at the top of the release notes.
Google Play signs its copy with its own key, so the APK and the Google Play version can't update each other. To switch, save a backup with Link Device, uninstall, then install the other one.
